Yankees gifted run as Guardians flub routine play in ALCS

The Guardians, especially Brayan Rocchio, had forgettable moments on the field Tuesday night.

In the bottom of the first inning of Game 2 of the ALCS at Yankee Stadium, Aaron Judge, with a runner in the corner, hit a routine pop-up into the infield where Cleveland shortstop Rocchio was apparently in camp.

However, the ball rose so high in the air that it appeared to be caught in the wind, sending Rocchio drifting to his left and toward the second base bag.

In the first inning, when the Yankees took the lead, Guardians shortstop Breian Rocchio hit a pop-up into the infield.

As the ball dropped, Rocchio stepped in front of second baseman Andres Jimenez and dropped the ball, which hit his glove and bounced into the outfield.

Gleyber Torres charged from third, Juan Soto advanced to second, and Judge safely scored for a 1-0 lead.

But Cleveland solved yet another problem, as the Yankees were unable to mount any further offense.

The Yankees already lead the series 1-0.
