The suspect's sister is at the center of the bombing murder trial of billionaire Cash App founder Bob Lee. She is the wife of an attractive plastic surgeon who was reportedly involved in San Francisco's underground party scene involving drugs and swinger sex.
Hazar Eliasnia, 38, is said to have been partying and sleeping with Lee when his brother Nima Momeni, 40, stabbed him to death in the early hours of April 4, 2023.
That night, Lee, 43, was found bleeding and crying for help in downtown San Francisco at 2:30 a.m. It was just 30 minutes after he and Momeni were seen leaving the Millennium Tower, a luxury residence in Eliasnia.
Momeni's lawyers say he killed Lee in self-defense and that the tech founder was high on drugs and tried to cut him down.
Lee and Eliasnia were involved in San Francisco's wealthy party scene known as “The Lifestyle,” which centered around drug use and casual sex. The Wall Street Journal previously reported.
The couple had attended one such party together on the night of the murder, and Momeni believed that Lee had drugged and raped her sister, prosecutors argued in opening statements Monday.
Momeni decided to take revenge on her sister's behalf, prosecutors said, only to hear Hazar call her brother a “fucking psychopath” in a “terrible” text message hours later.
Prosecutors said the messages were a key piece of evidence proving Momeni guilty of first-degree murder.
The drama escalates as Momeni's lawyers try to bar Hazard from court after Lee's ex-wife, Krista, calls her a “high-rise whore.” References to her apartment in the mansion are shown in court documents.
Friends say the brothers are close, were born less than a year apart and reportedly immigrated from Iran with their mother in the 1990s.
“[Nima] I would do absolutely anything for that [Khazar] And she would do anything for him,” one friend told Mission Local.
Since 2013, Hazard has been married to Dr. Dino Eliasnia, a renowned plastic surgeon specializing in rhinoplasty.
His name has been featured in magazines for years, where he speaks passionately about his marriage and wife. According to San Francisco standards.
He joined her in court throughout her brother's court proceedings.
But ever since her name became associated with Lee and “lifestyle,” the image of a sunny marriage has become clouded.
One person told the Standard that he matched with Hazard on a dating app in 2019 and even went back home with her.
Last November, she crashed her Mercedes into several cars in broad daylight in San Francisco and was arrested for drunk driving.
Police allege they witnessed her huffing nitrous oxide behind the wheel, and police found a used container of intoxicating inhalants in her car.
The charges were later dropped pending further investigation.
Court documents say it's unclear when her relationship with Mr Lee began, but she has previously denied being sexually assaulted by a partygoer, and has also said nothing bad about her brother. He claimed that nothing was happening.
Momeni has pleaded not guilty to murder.
“Nima had to stand his ground against someone who had hardly slept for 90 hours and was using cocaine the whole time,” lawyer Saam Zangeneh told the court, according to the Standard newspaper. said.
“People who use cocaine vendors long-term are paranoid, aggressive, and violent.”
Both ketamine and cocaine were found in Mr Lee's system when he died.
