Former President Jimmy Carter has fulfilled his dream of voting for Vice President Harris in the 2024 presidential election, just over two weeks after his 100th day of election.th birthday.
The Carter Center confirmed Wednesday that Mr. Carter voted by mail on Oct. 16.
Carter, the longest-serving president, declared he wanted to vote for Harris in August, the day after Harris officially became the Democratic nominee.
“I'm just trying to vote for Kamala Harris,” Carter told her son Chip in August.
Carter entered hospice care in February 2023 and outlived his wife, Rosalynn Carter, who passed away last November.

Jason Carter, the former president's grandson, said last month that Carter continues to follow politics and world events and is eager to “turn the page” on the Trump era.
Early voting in Georgia began on Monday, October 15th. Carter was one of 66 Georgia centenarians who had already cast their ballots as of Wednesday morning.
Overall, more than 300,000 votes were cast in Georgia on the first day of early voting, breaking the Peach State record.
Earlier this month, the former president was honored by other former presidents and their families for his lifelong career in public service.
