Trump tops Harris by 7 points in battleground Georgia survey

According to the latest poll, former President Trump has a seven-point lead over Vice President Harris in the battleground state of Georgia.

An earlier poll released Oct. 1 also showed Trump leading his Democratic rival by 6 points (50% to 44%). In that poll, 3% of respondents chose another candidate.

“Georgia is on their minds, and for now President Trump is humming that nostalgic song, hoping to carry that nostalgic song into Election Day,” Tim Malloy, a Quinnipiac University polling analyst, said in a statement Wednesday. “I think so,” he said.

Republican candidates beat Harris on economic issues, 55% to 43%. immigrants, 57 percent versus 41 percent; Maintaining democracy is 51 percent to 46 percent. However, Harris maintained her lead on abortion policy, with 50% support compared to Trump's 44%.

The poll was released a day after early voting began in key battleground states. Election officials announced Wednesday that more than 300,000 votes were cast on the first day of early voting, breaking the state's previous record.

According to a poll compiled by The Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters, Mr. Trump has an approval rating of 48.3% in the state, compared to 47% for Ms. Harris.

The Quinnipiac poll was conducted Oct. 10-14 among 1,328 likely Georgia voters and has a margin of error of 2.7 percentage points.
