Giants won’t hold anything back in ‘war’ against Saquon Barkley

Dexter Lawrence will show no mercy to running back Saquon Barkley when Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley clashes at 1 a.m. Sunday at MetLife Stadium. I'm sure there are Giants fans who don't think so.

“I think he's contributed a lot to this organization, but we have some tough fans and they'll bring him in even if they feel it's right,” Lawrence said. spoke. “I appreciate everything he has done for this organization and most importantly, for who he has been as a teammate and as a person to me.

“But Sunday is war and he knows it.”

He knew about it because he attended Lawrence's wedding in June.

“I told him it's always a war when I play, and he knows it,” Lawrence said.

Some Giants fans called him “Snaquon” Barkley when he flew out of the cabin and landed on the hated Eagles. Some called him a traitor.

“At the end of the day, it's selfish to want to keep him, but at the end of the day, I think he's doing what's best for himself and that's what happens,” Lawrence said. said.

“I don't understand why it's a big deal to make yourself happy, or to do things that make you happy. After all, we are human beings, and he I'm going to be happy for him regardless of that because he did what was best for him. He knows that whenever he plays against us, it's a war. It's on the field. There's no bad blood between us…We have to make choices in life, just like we go somewhere to get a raise.”

Barkley's salary jumped from $10.1 million in his final season with the Giants to $37.75 million on a three-year contract with $26 million guaranteed.

“I don't really care about the slander, the slander, the bashing, because I want people to put themselves in his shoes,” Adree Jackson told the Post. Ta. “I don't think there should be any bad blood. At the end of the day, it's a business.”

Bobby Okereke, who played for Berkeley last season, was asked about the high-pitched snaku-ons and traitorous cries.

“I don't think that's a fair assessment,” Okereke told the Post. “Obviously, this is a game that we all love and that our fans are passionate about. Whenever I make a decision that I think is best for my family, I fully support it.”

Barkley was beloved in the Giants' locker room.

“Obviously as a player, selfishly, I want to have him on my team, but it's nice to get paid,” McFadden said.

A Giants defense happy with the release will be wary of Barkley's contact balance and explosiveness…and perhaps also have a ferocious desire to remind general manager Joe Schoen what he's missing.

“I think we have to stop Saquon from running wild,” Lawrence said. “We've got to plug holes, we've got to hit him with a lot of guys, a lot of bodies. He's good at finding second-lane, third-lane type things, so he You have to stop before you start because he's explosive. The elite is back.”

John Mara was sad to see Barkley go, especially to that team. Daniel Jones was sorry to see Barkley leave. Barkley made Jones better. He made the Giants better.

He couldn't make the Giants good enough.

One playoff win in six seasons.

As it turns out, New York was the wrong place for him at the wrong time.

He's the missing piece for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.

He wasn't the missing piece for the Giants.

He wore a creaky jalopy with a gold-plated hood ornament.

It was the right move for the Eagles, and it was the right move for the Giants.

It's too early to conclude that rookies Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary would adequately replace Barkley at a much lower cost.

“Great teammate, great friend,” Jones said. “He's obviously a really good player. We spent a lot of time together on and off the field, and he's someone who helped me a lot in the first few years when I started coming into the league, so I really appreciate him as a person. I have great respect and gratitude for that.”

When asked how he thinks Barkley will be received by Giants fans, Jones smiled.

“If I had to guess, it would probably not be warm,” he said, laughing. “It's a competitive game, it's Eagles vs. Giants, it's a very big division game. There's a lot going on besides Saquon Barkley coming back.”

It's war.
