The sudden death of One Direction member Liam Payne on Wednesday immediately sent shockwaves through the industry.
Celebrities including Paris Hilton, Zedd and Charlie Puth took to social media to express their sadness over the 31-year-old singer's death.
“So upset to hear of Liam Payne's passing,” Hilton wrote on her X account with crying emojis. “I send my love and condolences to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace my friend.”
“We Don't Talk Anymore” singer Charlie Puth wrote on his Instagram Story that he was “shocked” by his death.

“He was always very kind to me. He was one of the first major artists I got to work with,” he continued. “I can't believe he's gone…”
“I'm so upset right now. Rest in peace,” she added, along with a photo and video of the two of them together.
DJ and producer Zedd wrote to his X: “Rest in peace Liam… I can't believe this is real… So heartbreaking…” The pair collaborated on their 2017 song 'Get Low'.
“I'm in shock right now. He was always so nice to me. He was one of the first major artists I worked with. I can't believe he's gone…”

Mr. Payne was pronounced dead by authorities in Buenos Aires on Wednesday after apparently falling from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, local media reported.
Alberto Crescenti, head of the state's emergency medical system, told Argentina's Todo Noticias television that Payne had fallen into the courtyard of Palermo's Casa Sur Hotel, refusing to provide further information about the incident, the paper said. He said he did.
