One Direction are mourning the sudden death of bandmate Liam Payne.

Payne's former bandmate Louis Tomlinson also released his own statement.

“I'm shocked and devastated as I write this, but I lost my brother yesterday,” Tomlinson wrote on Instagram. “Liam was someone I looked up to every day, a very positive, funny and kind person.”
“I first met Liam when he was 16 and I was 18. I was immediately struck by his voice, but as time went on, I realized that it was a voice that I had admired all my life. I had the opportunity to meet such a kind brother.”
