Bulldogs an underdog for first time in 3 years

The Georgia Bulldogs find themselves in an unfamiliar position as they head to Texas to take on the Longhorns.

Kirby Smart's club enters one of the most anticipated college football games of the year in Austin on Saturday with a chance to fall behind for the first time in more than three years.

The Bulldogs have been favored in 49 straight games since the season opener against the Clemson Tigers in September 2021, when they trailed by 2.5 points.

They won that game 10-3.

If they remain underdogs, it would end the longest streak of popularity in college football. Per ESPN.

Texas has been the favorite to win 18 games in a row, the second-longest winning streak.

The Longhorns opened as 3.5-point favorites, but then the big bucks went to Texas, which is a 5-point favorite.

Both teams come into the season with high expectations and are almost certain to qualify for the College Football Playoff later this season.

At FanDuel Sportsbook, Texas is tied with Oregon for the best odds to make the playoffs (-2000), while Georgia has the fifth-best odds (-460).
