Regarding rumors about which quarterback the Pittsburgh Steelers will start against the New York Jets on Sunday, Justin Fields said the onus is on him to dispel doubts against him.
And on Thursday, he admitted he had done no such thing.
With Russell Wilson representing the first team in practice this week, head coach Mike Tomlin has a decision to make at QB1. Will he join Fields, who led the team to a 4-2 start behind one of the best defenses in the league?
Or will they start Wilson, who was brought in as the starting QB from the beginning?

“To tell you the truth, I don't think I played well enough,” Fields told reporters. “If I'm honest with myself, if I'm playing well enough, I don't think there's a question of, 'Who should play and who shouldn't play?'
Tomlin opened the door for Wilson to return. He said both Fields and the Steelers were “really good at times” through six weeks, but “should not be confused with great.”

When asked about the possibility of relegation, he said: “I'm just going to do my job,” adding, “Whether it's playing, helping the players on the sideline, trying to help them see what I'm seeing.” “Let Russ know (or) help Russ if he's playing.” . ”
