Where Harris, Trump will be on Friday

Vice President Harris and former President Trump are now in full swing campaign season, with the election campaign just over two weeks away.

Candidates from both parties arrived on Friday to campaign in the key battleground state of Michigan. Harris' campaign is fighting to maintain Democratic control of states that switched from supporting Trump in 2016 to supporting President Biden in the last election, primarily in “blue wall” states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. They are working overtime in battlegrounds centered around the states.

The vice president plans to appeal to voters in Grand Rapids, Lansing and the Detroit suburbs at a daylong campaign event. President Trump is also campaigning in Detroit on Friday, just over a week after slamming the Motor City during a visit to the city's Economic Club.

Mr. Trump leads in the Great Lakes state by less than a point, 48.8% to 48.1%, according to Hill/Decision Desk's polling index.

Early voting is underway in several states, with Michigan due to begin next week, but the race remains close.

Below is a complete list of Friday's events.

Trump camp:

The former president will hold a rally in Detroit starting at 7 p.m. EDT.

The event, to be held at Huntington Place, is expected to target Harris on the economy, including inflation and jobs, while appealing to autoworkers. According to the campaign.

Harris campaign:

The Democratic candidate will give a campaign speech in Grand Rapids, Michigan at 2:35 p.m. EDT.

She continues her onslaught in key battleground states, holding an invite-only event in Lansing, Michigan at 5:35 p.m. EDT. This will be her first visit to the state capital.

Harris will also campaign in the Detroit suburb of Oakland Hills on Friday night. The event is scheduled for 8:10pm ET.

On Friday, former Presidents Obama and Clinton also campaigned for Harris in Arizona and North Carolina.
