Former One Direction singer Liam Payne “begged” his girlfriend to stay in Argentina before he died in a hotel room fall, but one of her close friends says she “begged” his girlfriend to stay behind in his sudden death. He said he was “devastated” by his death and was “in a bad mood” when she broke up with him. .
Payne was “very unhappy” that his New Jersey-born influencer girlfriend Kate Cassidy wanted to go home to see her dog after traveling together for several weeks, Payne told the Post. spoke exclusively.
“Liam didn't want Kate to leave Argentina. He wanted her to stay. She says he begged her to stay. Actually, more than you might think. It was a bit hot,” said the friend, who requested anonymity.
“He didn't know why she was leaving him, but she wanted to stay home with the dog. He didn't like that at all. He was really grumpy about it. It was.”
Cassidy flew back to Florida four days before the troubled former boy band heartthrob fell to his death from the balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday. The trip was only supposed to last five days.
“She had been there for a long time and wanted to go home, but he gave her no instructions as to when to leave. So she decided to work things out on her own and get a ticket home. “I put it in,” the friend said. “He was really unhappy about that. He made sure she knew that.”
The couple, who have been together for two years, otherwise had “no problems,” the friend said.
But local officials say hours before his fall, the 31-year-old pop star had been partying with two prostitutes at a hotel and got into a heated argument with one of them over payment.
“She just heard about prostitutes. She didn't know anything about it. She just said she had to clear her mind about it,” Cassidy's friend said.
“This is obviously a huge betrayal for her and it hurts so much. She hasn't stopped crying. She is devastated. She has a great support system around her, but things are only going to get worse. “She's not okay,” she added.
“She has several people around her, including her family. She is not alone. She is responsive to me and other friends. We all help her in any way we can.”
In a TikTok post last week, Cassidy said he was “ready to leave” Argentina.
“Honestly, I was ready to leave because I love South America, but I don't like staying in one place for too long,” Cassidy said in a TikTok video. “We were planning to stay there for about five days. [then] Two weeks went by and I was just like, “I have to go home.''
“I'm completely lost,” she confessed on her Instagram Story Friday after his death. “Nothing has felt real these past few days.”
Cassidy's father told the Post on Thursday that she was heartbroken by the sudden and tragic death of her celebrity boyfriend.
“She's grieving,” he said from his parents' home in Harrington Park, a leafy suburb in northeastern New Jersey.
On Friday, the family put up a “do not disturb” sign on their front door.
Authorities said Payne plummeted to her death around 5 p.m. Wednesday from the third-floor balcony of a dilapidated hotel room strewn with champagne glasses and drug paraphernalia.
Authorities initially said the man had “jumped from the balcony of his room,” but an autopsy revealed that he had fallen and may have been unconscious or semi-conscious.
