Kamala Harris ‘very vulnerable’ to October surprise

“Real Time” host Bill Maher struck an even more worried tone Friday night after confidently predicting that Vice President Kamala Harris would win the 2024 election.

“Democrats need to stop thinking that an October surprise will save President Trump another term,” Maher began his monologue.

“Trump's superpower as a candidate is that he's been behaving badly everywhere, constantly, for so long that you just can't see it anymore…I don't want an October surprise to knock him out. If you're waiting, dream it. There's a good chance another 'Joker' musical will happen.”

He noted that Harris had some stumbles during her recent media onslaught.

“This is Kamala's big dilemma,” Maher continued later.

“Trump is invulnerable to October's surprise, but she is very vulnerable because it has not yet been defined. And, as she showed in this week's Bret Baier interview, attacking her own actions When confronted, her go-to line is usually “Trump is at fault.” We know that, but undecided voters want to know more about you. They want someone to vote for them. ”

The HBO host summed up that President Trump's coalition is made up of “people who really like him” and people who think he's better than “far-left lunacy.”

“And the big question for voters with Kamala is: Are you part of the far-left lunacy?” Maher asked.

“The attack ad I see 10 times a day, and the question Bret Baier posed to her on Wednesday, said in 2019 that she supported providing taxpayer-funded gender reassignment surgery to undocumented immigrants in prison. It was about saying, “This kind of thing has never really happened and nothing has been done.''It really affects anyone's life. But this is a litmus test for voters who want to know more about the Democratic Party: Do the people around you make you say, “No, that's ridiculous''? ”

Maher then turned to Harris' appearance on “The View” and said there was “nothing that I can think of” that she would have done differently under Biden's presidency.

He called the reaction “no bueno.”

“It's getting late, and we can't tolerate any more of the terrible answers we received last week,” Maher said.

“Next time, I'm going to say, 'Joe Biden has generally done a good job, but certainly he should have strengthened the border sooner, like we are now. Trust me, I learned my lesson, but that will never happen. Why not say, “It won't happen.''

He then appealed directly to Democratic candidates.

“Kamala, it is very important that you win this election. Not only for the sake of preserving true democracy and for the good of the world, but also because I predicted a month ago that you would win. Yes, it would make me look bad,'' Maher said, eliciting laughter from the audience.

“I have a very good prediction record, so please don't mess this up. Kamala, ever since I put a marker on you and said you're going to win, and I don't even worry about it. I didn't, but everywhere on the streets of L.A., everyone was texting me, emailing me, stopping me at restaurants, asking, 'Bill, are you sure?' I don’t know, of course I don’t, but that’s my intuition!”

“I think Kamala Harris wants this. I think she can do it, let alone if she loses, I don't think we'll ever hear from Joe, 'I told you I was the only one who could beat Biden.'” added Maher.

Maher previously predicted that Harris would seal the election after last month's presidential debate.

“I'm going to make a prediction and make this a very important night,” Maher said at the time.

“Because I've been called a 'Trump alarmist' for a long time, this prediction has credence. They were wrong, but I was right. He won power. I had no intention of leaving, but since then, and ever since. [Access Hollywood] Tape…and he survived. Every time he did something outrageous and got in trouble, I said, “No, no.” It's not over yet. ”

“I think what I'm saying tonight is that it's over,” Maher said, to cheers from the liberal audience.
