Kamala Harris' campaign has decided to cut back on campaign time this week and prepare for town hall interviews on NBC and CNN.
It's an unusual schedule for the final weeks of a presidential election. Candidates typically value hosting local events in battleground states more than sitting in interviews with their friendly networks.
Harris is scheduled to sit in on an interview Tuesday with NBC's Harry Jackson, whose coverage appears to be biased against former President Donald Trump. Harris is scheduled to appear at a CNN town hall on Wednesday. President Trump frequently calls CNN “fake news.”
“I've never seen anything like this in the final stages of a presidential election!” as Jason MillerSenior Advisor to President Trump Posted With X. ”With less than 2 weeks left @IanSams he is very rattled @KamalaHarris I will take two full days off from campaigning next week.@Harry Jacksoninterview and then @AndersonCooperTown hall. “
While Harris orchestrated extensive media appearances, the Trump campaign was focused on Pennsylvania. Over the weekend, Trump held a rally in Latrobe, worked at a McDonald's drive-thru window, hosted a town hall in Lancaster and attended a Pittsburgh Steelers game.
In addition to events scheduled for later in the week, President Trump is scheduled to hold an event in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Monday. Early voting in the Tar Heel State continues through Nov. 2. On Tuesday, he will appear in a virtual town hall with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard.
