Tua Tagovailoa is expected to return to the Dolphins on Sunday.
Coach Mike McDaniel announced Monday that the team plans to have Tagovailoa return from IR after missing the past four games with a concussion.
McDaniel said Tagovailoa is intended to play Sunday, but the quarterback will have to go through concussion protocol.
The Dolphins lost three of four games without Tagovailoa, with their only win coming against the lowly Patriots.
After Tagovailoa suffered a severe head injury during a game against the Bills on Sept. 12 and collapsed on the turf, some former players called for him to retire.

Tagovarioa, 26, has a history of head injuries and missed part of the 2022 season after taking a tough hit against the Bengals.
