Lifeway Launches First-Ever Bible to Help Kids with Dyslexia Connect with Scripture

Lifeway Christian Resources has launched its first Bible designed specifically for children with dyslexia called the CSB Grace Bible for Kids.

“Dyslexia should not prevent children from reading the Bible. At the heart of the CSB (Christian Standard Bible) Grace Bible for Children is the ability of young readers to receive God in a personal way through the Word. “We are responding to the need to help people engage with the world and connect with God,” LifeWay President Ben Mandrell said in a statement. christian post.

According to christian postthe Bible incorporates a specially designed typeface and layout developed by 2K/DENMARK in collaboration with the University of Cambridge's research department.

This design includes clear letter formatting to add space between letters, words, lines, and paragraphs and improve readability.

“For people with dyslexia, the letters may not stay on the baseline and look like bouncing balloons. The Grace typeface design helps keep the letters on the baseline by making the letters thicker as they go down. ” explained Klaus Krogh, founder of 2K/DENMARK.

Five years ago, Krogh began developing the Grace typeface, and the University of Cambridge participated in testing and refining the design. This typeface helps readers distinguish between similar letters such as “m” and “n” or “p” and “q”. The Bible also features special colored page overlays that can enhance visual processing and reduce visual stress.

A version of the Grace Bible for teens and adults is also scheduled for release in February 2025.

“I'm really looking forward to hearing the feedback,” Crowe said. “We hope and pray that this article will help someone understand what the Bible says. We know that faith changes lives, and we want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to change lives with the message of the Bible. I want to give you.”

The CSB Children's Grace Bible includes study tips and content for kids that address questions such as “how to read the Bible” and “how to spend quiet time,” said Holman Bible publisher Andy McLean. It is said that it is included.

“These additions are designed to improve children's Bible literacy skills and establish a foundation of spiritual discipline that will lead to both a deeper engagement with God's Word and, in turn, deeper intimacy with God.” I’m here.”

“One of the most rewarding parts of our job at LifeWay is helping young readers engage with the Bible and learn more about God through His Word,” Mandrell added. “We are very encouraged by the excitement and traction around Grace Bible for Children.”

According to the International Dyslexia Association, 15 to 20 percent of the population has a language-based learning disability, and 70 to 80 percent of students with specific learning disabilities who receive special education services have reading deficiencies.
