‘The Office’ star Jenna Fischer reveals which celebrity had a ‘salty’ reaction to her cancer news

Jenna Fischer has revealed that her celebrity friend and fellow actress Christina Applegate had a “salty” reaction to her cancer diagnosis.

“The Office” alum, who played Pam Beasley on the NBC hit comedy, revealed earlier this month that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

Currently appearing on “Today” programFisher said she was diagnosed in October 2023. The first person she spoke to about the news was her husband, Lee Kirk.

One of the first friends she decided to share the news of her health issues with was Applegate, her co-star in the 2011 film Hall Pass.

“I called her and she answered the phone and said, ‘Which one?’” And I said, “I have breast cancer.” And she said, “I knew that.”

“She's salty. That's a salty word. I love her,” Fisher said of Applegate, who lives with multiple sclerosis.

The 50-year-old actress said she has undergone treatment and is now cancer-free.

“After surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, I am now cancer-free,” she wrote.

However, the road to recovery was not always smooth sailing.

Fisher told fans that she underwent tumor removal surgery in January to remove the tumor, but luckily doctors caught it early and the tumor didn't spread. Due to the “advanced nature” of her cancer, the star required chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

She received 12 rounds of weekly chemotherapy starting in February and began three weeks of radiation therapy in June. Fisher was also treated with two other drugs intravenously.

“I'm happy to say I'm feeling good,” she commented. Instagram post.

“I lost my hair during chemotherapy, but thanks to my wonderful wig and hat with hair (which my family affectionately called Wiggat), I have never been able to reveal everything that is happening to me. “We could wait,” Fisher continued. “I am making this announcement for several reasons.”

“One, be ready to throw away the wig. Second, beg to get a mammogram once a year. Also, ask your doctor to calculate your Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score and get the necessary You can also get additional tests done. I'm serious, call your doctor now,” she said.

Fisher also gave a special shoutout to her former “The Office” co-star Angela Kinsey and her husband Joshua Snyder.

Fisher has been married to her husband, director Lee Kirk, since 2010, and the couple have two children, son Weston Lee and daughter Harper Marie.
