In the most recent poll conducted in North Carolina, the difference between Vice President Harris and former President Trump was just 1 percentage point.

About 1% of voters say they plan to vote for someone else, and 6% are undecided.
Early voting began Thursday in the Tar Heel State, a key battleground state won by Trump in the 2020 election.
Voters who had already voted at the time of the survey were more likely to vote for Republican candidates so far, the survey found. Fifty percent of respondents who had already voted voted for Trump, compared to 48% for Harris.
Experts have long predicted that the outcome would be similar in North Carolina. According to the poll, Trump leads among voters who are sure they will vote, while Harris leads among voters who say they probably will. These results are a reversal from previous research.
The demographic-based results are similar to polls in other battleground states. The vice president leads among young voters, women, and voters of color, while the former president leads among older voters, men, and white voters.
Ms. Harris receives most of her support from the Charlotte and Raleigh areas, while Mr. Trump has support in the western, southern and coastal areas of the state.
Both candidates have traveled to North Carolina several times in recent weeks to advocate for the state, including after the western region was hit by Hurricane Helen.
According to The Hill/Decision Desk, Harris leads Trump nationally by 0.9 percentage point, with 48.6% of voters voting compared to Trump's 47.7%. In North Carolina, polls show Trump leading by 0.9 percentage points over Harris, 48.9%.
High Point University surveyed 1,164 registered voters in North Carolina between October 17th and 20th. The margin of error for respondents on their presidential choice was 3.7 percentage points.
