The NFL returned to normalcy in Week 8, and the situation has calmed down to a certain extent. The first five weeks saw shocking losses for the favorites, but most of the favorites have done their jobs over the past two weeks. The Bills briefly nearly shocked the Titans, but quickly righted the ship.
This means the survivor pool is settling down after five weeks of chaos. Most pools have been significantly slimmed down, but if you're still in the Survivor pool, we're in for a tough time picking.
Last week everyone was winning and my Survivor advice column was pretty simple. Again all my safe and value picks hit, but the trap picks were far away as the Broncos whacked the Saints. thursday night football.
In Week 7, the Jaguars and Bills won, so they survived another week. And they came back with even more picks in Week 8. There are a lot of options to consider, and we'll be breaking down the rankings each week this season. The safest pick, the most valuable pick, and the potential trap pick.
safest pick
lion surpassing titan
The Lions will be the favorites this week against a ferocious Titans team, and for good reason. If you're in a pool with few viable competitors, there's nothing wrong with playing it safe.
the most valuable choice
Broncos vs Panthers
Chargers over Saints
Denver doesn't have much value for the rest of the season. These will be popular picks this week, but if you want the bigger names to stick around, now's a good time to use them.
trap pick
Chiefs against Raiders
Ravens vs. Browns
Jets vs. Patriots
These could be pretty popular picks, but road games in the division are tricky. Kansas City and Baltimore will probably win, and could easily win, but I'd avoid them. The Jets should win, but the team is a mess.
