ALLENTOWN and PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania — Republican Donald Trump has won the most coveted battleground state of Pennsylvania in the 2024 election, securing his return to the White House.
The Associated Press reports that Trump leads his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, 51% to 48% in the keystone state, with 94% of the vote counted.
Pennsylvania gained 19 electoral votes, the most of the seven swing states.
The Keystone State provided many of the campaign's most memorable moments.
Mr. Trump worked as a french fry machine at a McDonald's in the state and accused Mr. Harris of claiming, without providing any proof, that he had worked at the franchise when he was younger.

And a photo of the former president raising his fist after being shot by would-be assassin Thomas Crooks at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, will likely become the campaign's top image.
This is the second time Trump has broken through the blue wall in the state, which has historically supported Democrats in the race for the White House.

In 2016, the Keystone State supported the former president over Hillary Clinton. The federation then flipped to Scranton native Joe Biden in 2020.
Trump and Biden's respective victories in Pennsylvania gave them more than 270 electoral votes and sent them to the White House.
The former president vowed to bring down historic inflation levels and crack down on the surge in illegal immigration seen under the Biden-Harris administration, tightening the tone in battleground states.
President Trump also promised to open up the oil and gas industry and force China and other countries to move manufacturing to the United States.
He also called for an end to the war between Ukraine and Gaza that erupted under the Biden-Harris administration, pledging to resolve the spiraling conflict by promoting peace through force.
