Trump Wins Back Presidency, Promises to Deliver a ‘Golden Age of America’

Donald Trump took back the White House on Tuesday, completing one of the most remarkable comebacks in American history. He became the first president in more than a century to win two non-consecutive terms, thanks to a diverse coalition not seen in recent decades for Republican presidents. Democrat Kamala Harris' victory in 2024 will be a near-overwhelming victory in the Southern states, with the winning coalition winning in the West and Southwest, and the Midwestern states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin with large electoral votes. In total, he won more than 300 electors.

The morning after the election, he led by 51 to 47 percent and was on track to win the popular vote, a feat he failed to accomplish in 2016 or 2020. If he can maintain that advantage, he will be only the second Republican to hold the position. He has won the popular vote since 1992, the other being George W. Bush in 2004.

Trump will be the first U.S. president since Grover Cleveland in 1884 and 1892, when he lost one election and then won again. Trump was elected as the 45th president and will now become the 47th president.

“We're going to help this country heal,” Trump told cheering supporters shortly after multiple media outlets declared him the winner.

“Every day I fight with all my heart for you,” he added. “I will not rest until we create the strong, safe, and prosperous America that our children and you deserve. This will truly be America's Golden Age.”

Trump's resurgence is the biggest since at least Richard Nixon. Mr. Nixon lost the 1960 presidential election, then lost the 1962 California gubernatorial election, then returned to politics and his political career seemed to end until he won the 1968 presidential election. I saw it.

Vice President-elect J.D. Vance told Trump supporters, “We just witnessed the greatest political revival in American history,” and vowed, “We will lead the greatest economic revival.” .

Trump won thanks to a racially diverse coalition not seen among recent Republican candidates. He received 45 percent of the Latino vote, the most for a Republican candidate since at least 1972. He received 38 percent of the Asian vote, the most for a Republican candidate since 2004. 12 percent of the black vote was the same as in America. In 2020, both had the most votes for a Republican candidate since 1996.

His 44 percent Union vote was the highest for a Republican since Ronald Reagan in 1984.

“This was a move that no one had ever seen before,” President Trump said.

“None of us had ever seen anything like it. They came from all walks of life: union, non-union, African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, Arab American. , Muslim Americans. We had all of us, and it was beautiful.'' It was a historic realignment, one in which people of all backgrounds came together around a common core of common sense. ”

Meanwhile, Mr. Trump increased his support among white voters, born-again and evangelical Christians, a demographic that experts in both parties are watching closely. This year, he received 81 percent from that group, which was more than in 2020 (76 percent) and 2016 (80 percent).

“This is a great victory for the American people, and it allows us to make America great again.” “…America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mission.”
