Van Jones Claims Only Republicans Called Trump Hitler, Nazi

CLAIM: CNN commentator Van Jones claimed on election night that only Republicans called President-elect Donald Trump a Hitler, a Nazi and a fascist.

Verdict: False.

“The most important thing to remember is…the people who said this.” [Trump] He was a Hitler enthusiast, but he was not a Democrat,” Jones said. “They were Republicans. The people who were calling him a fascist weren't Democrats. They were Republicans who worked for him. Here are the Democratic elites poisoning the well. It's not just that we're putting it in. There was a pretty broad consensus from Chomsky to the Cheneys that they were very concerned and are still concerned.”

Jones correctly said that some Republicans who have worked with Trump in the past have called him a fascist and a Hitler enthusiast, but Democrats, establishment media and the Kamala Harris campaign have enthusiastically pushed those claims. It was a mistake to say that it had not been repeated.

For example, ahead of election night, Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Kamala Harris' former running mate, tweeted that President-elect Trump's campaign rally at Madison Square Garden was a Nazi rally. He claimed this without any evidence.

“Don't miss this. Google this: Donald Trump is going to hold this huge rally at Madison Square Garden,” he told supporters in Las Vegas. . “It's a lot like the big gatherings that happened at Madison Square Garden in the mid-1930s. And don't think for a second he doesn't know exactly what they're doing there. .”

Establishment media outlets, particularly MSNBC, have claimed that President-elect Trump's campaign rallies bear similarities to Nazi rallies in the 1930s.

Similarly, Kamala Harris described Trump as a “vile tyrant,” “unstable,” “obsessed with revenge,” “frustrated,” and “seeking unchecked power.” Harris also addressed President Trump's previous claims about “.”enemy within,” his statement about using the military against them.

she said“It's deeply disturbing and extremely dangerous that Donald Trump would summon Adolf Hitler, who is responsible for the deaths of six million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans. All of this. is further evidence of who Donald Trump really is for the American people.”

During that rally, Democrats projected a “Praise Hitler” message onto New York's Madison Square Garden and pushed out a counter-message.

“Trump praises Hitler'' plan emerges response Go to recent reports atlantic ocean According to the claim, the former president told his former chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly, that he wanted a German general like Hitler had.

in their books, Divider: Trump in the White HousePeter Baker and Susan Glasser reported that Trump asked his then-chief of staff, John Kelly, “Why can't you be more like a German general?” At various points, Mr. Trump became increasingly frustrated with military officials whom he viewed as disloyal and disobedient. (During his presidency, Trump referred to flag soldiers as “my generals.”) According to Baker and Glasser, Kelly told Trump that German generals “tried to kill Hitler three times. But we've almost done it,'' he said. The amendments did not prompt President Trump to reconsider his position. “No, no, they were completely loyal to him,” the president responded.

“'You mean General Bismarck?'” he continued. “So I knew he didn't know who Bismarck was, and he didn't know about the Franco-Prussian War. I said, 'You mean the Emperor's generals?' Certainly not. Hitler's General? And he said, “Yes, yes, Hitler's general.” I explained to him that Rommel had to commit suicide after taking part in a conspiracy against Hitler. ” Mr. Kelly told me that Mr. Trump did not know Mr. Rommel.

Kelly and retired Gen. Mark Milley corroborated that this exchange took place, but no audio recording was made. President Trump also denied that statement. Some Republican leaders said pushing those claims would put Trump at risk of further assassination attempts.

“This summer, after the first assassination attempt on a presidential candidate in over 100 years, the president [Joe] “We cannot allow this violence to become the norm,” Biden said. In September, after President Trump escaped another close call, Vice President Harris acknowledged that “we all must do our part to prevent this incident from leading to further violence.'' said Senate Minority Leader McConnell (R-Ky.) and Representatives. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) wrote in a joint statement:

But Harris “only fanned the flames beneath a boiling cauldron of political hostility,” their statement continued. “Her latest and most reckless call about the darkest evils of the 20th century seems to be daring it to boil over. The vice president's words echo what she had previously called for civility. “This sounds more like the words of President Trump's second assassin candidate.”
