Corey Lewandowski responded to Steve Bannon's recent comments about the federal government by saying that Steve Bannon does not speak for President-elect Trump.
“No one speaks for the president other than the president. What the president has said, and what he said on stage last night, is that he will be a president for everyone, and that we have the power to unite the country.” The opportunity is now to bring this country back together,'' Levandowski, a senior adviser to Trump's 2024 campaign, said during an appearance on NewsNation's “Dan Abrams Live'' on Wednesday. .
Lewandowski's response came after host Dan Abrams asked him about Bannon's comments following Trump's victory over Vice President Harris in Wednesday's U.S. presidential election. Ta. Bannon went after federal agencies and MSNBC, claiming they were trying to “destroy this country.”
Bannon: “You stole the 2020 election” said on wednesday. “You mocked people, you mocked them, you put them in jail, you destroyed people's lives, saying this was stolen. All this bogus stuff is being wiped out. Biden is being wiped out. Yes, Kamala Harris is being eliminated.”
“MSNBC is being wiped out,” he added. “The Department of Justice [DOJ] It's being wiped out. The FBI is being wiped out. You guys suck, you know? And now you will pay the price for trying to destroy this country. ”
Lewandowski said Wednesday that he knows and respects Bannon, “but he doesn't speak for this administration. He doesn't speak for President Trump.”
“Listen, there's going to be a lot of hyperbole out there. There's going to be a lot of people who say they know Donald Trump or that they speak for him,” he said. “You don't have to listen to other people unless you hear it from Donald Trump.”
Bannon, President Trump's former chief strategist, was released a week before Election Day. He served a four-month sentence after refusing to respond to a Congressional subpoena related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
