Everyone loves a goal that wins the game. The absolute end of the game when the ball goes through the net is one of the coolest parts of the sport.
It's even better when an incredible goal comes from the opposite end of the field, as was exactly the case in the Stanford-Stanford men's soccer game. notre dame cathedral Ended. With eight seconds left, Stanford midfielder Dylan Hooper dribbled past a defender and sent Prayer flying from just behind midfield.
The announcer might be my favorite part of this entire sequence. The way he goes from preparing to send this to OT to being incredibly shocked is what makes this whole moment so good. In other words, it was a great goal, fired in the only place a goalie could not score.
I don't know if I'll be able to reproduce this goal even if I try 100 times. If you asked Hooper to do it again, he would probably say he would never take that shot again in that situation. But that's what makes this so great.
