President-elect Trump to meet Biden in Oval Office Wednesday

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced Saturday that President-elect Trump plans to meet with President Biden in the Oval Office.

The announcement comes as both men work toward a transition of power that will be completed when Trump is inaugurated as the 47th president on January 20, 2025.

“At President Biden's invitation, President Biden and President-elect Trump will meet in the Oval Office at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Additional details will be announced later,” Jean-Pierre said in a brief statement.

President Biden addressed the nation from the Rose Garden on Thursday after Vice President Kamala Harris conceded to President-elect Trump in the 2024 presidential election and promised a “peaceful and orderly” transfer of power. President Trump did not host Biden in 2020 because the 45th president contested the results.

It is traditional for the current first lady to host the next first lady at the White House.

Trump has been busy working on his transition team since he was declared the winner early Wednesday, making historic appointments. Susie Wilds Appointed as the first female Chief of Staff.

Trump's transition team will be led by pro wrestling mogul Linda McMahon and billionaire businessman Howard Lutnick.

Meanwhile, the Trump-Vance campaign announced Saturday the creation of the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee, Inc., a 501(c)(4) organization to plan the inauguration event.

The organization will be co-chaired by Steve Witkoff, a longtime friend and supporter of President-elect Trump, and Sen. Kelly Loeffler.
