Cornell is much smarter on the football field, too.
Late in the first quarter of the battle between Ivy League schools, Cornell University led Penn 14-7.
Cornell University faced 4th-and-8 from its own 26-yard line and went into punt formation. Then Cornell University shocked just about everyone.

Instead of throwing the ball to the punter, the long snapper sent it to Robert Tucker, a running back on the protected team.
The punter acted as if the snap had gone over his head and distracted him.
Tucker found a hole on the line and easily got a first down. After that, the rest was easy as he only had two players to beat and blockers up front.

Tucker juked one defender, the blocker flattened another defender, and Tucker coasted 74 yards for a touchdown, giving Cornell a 21-7 lead.
Penn then outscored Cornell 60-28 in the remaining games.
After Cornell's punt right before the surprise play, Penn scored on each of its final 10 drives, eight of which ended in touchdowns. Meanwhile, Cornell threw three costly interceptions.

Perhaps that ploy ignited the pen and led to a 67-43 victory. Penn scored 19, 20 and 21 points in the second, third and fourth quarters, respectively.
