BYU's perfect season remained intact Saturday as the Cougars scored 12 unanswered points in the second half to rallied and outscored Utah 22-21.
Cougars quarterback Jake Retzlaff led an 11-play, 65-yard drive, and Will Ferrin took the lead with a 44-yard field goal with three seconds left. The Utes led 21-10 at the half.

After the game, Utah athletic director Mark Harlan spoke to reporters and began making critical comments about the officiating.
“This game was completely stolen from us,” Harlan said. Via ESPN. “We were excited to get into the Big 12, but that's not the case tonight. We won this game. Someone else stole it from us. It's so disappointing. ”
“I'm going to talk to the commissioner. This was unfair to our team. I'm disgusted by the professionalism of the referees tonight.”

Both teams were given 10 penalties, with Utah losing 97 yards to BYU's 67. When the team sacked Retzlaff on fourth down with 1:29 left in the game, Utah's Zemaiah Bourne was called for a hold. The sack would have ended the game had it not been for the penalty.
BYU head coach Kalani Sitake said after the game, “No matter what decision the referees make, I don't think they're trying to make the wrong decision. So it's just part of the game.” . “Refereeing is part of the game. We were able to take advantage of that.”
Retzlaff was 15-of-33 for 219 passing yards and a rushing touchdown. Chase Roberts had six catches for 91 yards.
Utah's Brandon Rose had two touchdown passes and one interception. He completed 12 of 21 passes for 112 yards.
