One of Chicago's dark blue 50 wards, where many votes were cast for President-elect Donald Trump in 2024, is home to the highest concentration of voters who supported the Republican presidential candidate on Election Day. It wasn't just that.
The 41st Ward on Chicago's Upper West Side has become a veritable MAGA district after a majority pulled the lever for the Republican presidential nominee for the first time since 1992, according to voting data compiled by Chicago resident Frank Calabrese.
Interestingly, the 41st Precinct turns out to be one of the most popular locations in the city for Chicago Police Department officers to live.
But the 41st Ward wasn't the only neighborhood in Chicago that turned red. Additionally, half of each of the 43rd, 38th, 11th, 12th, 19th, and 50th wards strongly supported the president-elect. Mr. Calabrese noted that Mr. Trump won the support of police officers, firefighters, white working-class voters across the city, and Orthodox Jewish voters in the 50th Ward.
The former president also did very well with Asian residents of the 11th Ward, known locally as the “Chinatown” district.
When all is said and done, Trump will double his approval rating in Chicago as he did in 2020, going from 12 percent of the Chicago vote to 22 percent this year, according to the data.
Additionally, Democratic voters had lower turnout than Trump supporters in the Windy City. While Trump's approval rating did increase, Harris' voters simply didn't turn out to vote on November 5th.
In fact, Harris did very poorly in the state. Democrats in the Chicago area, the St. Louis suburbs on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River, and the state capital, Springfield, effectively outnumber voters in the rest of the state, sending the normally red state Democratic. But this time it was much closer than that.

For example, in 2020 Joe Biden blow out Against Donald Trump, Biden received 57.5% of the vote and Trump only 40.6%, giving Biden a 17% lead.
However, in 2024, only Harris won The state had a 9 percentage point lead, with Trump receiving 53.7% of the vote compared to 44.7%.
A sharp decline in Democratic support this year has some Illinois Republicans in the land of declining Lincoln hopeful that voters are finally growing tired of the one-party rule they've suffered for more than two decades. There are some people.
