Authorities in Michigan are investigating after human remains were found inside a townhome freezer last week.
Shortly after noon on Thursday, November 7th, the East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) was called to a residence in reference to a suspicious situation.
Police said the 911 caller indicated there was blood on the floor inside the residence.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found dried blood on the floor, but no signs of a break-in.

After a thorough search of the residence, officers discovered a body in a freezer. In addition to the first victim, police found a second possible body of unknown gender in the same freezer.
A biohazard sticker was on the front door of the house Friday. WLNS reported.
Local residents living near the townhouse told WLNS they had not seen anyone come in or out of the townhouse in recent months.

“Last night we were wondering how many days he had spent sleeping in bed just a few feet from the body,” Andrew Whitney told the magazine. “It looks like something violent and serious has happened.”
Michigan State Police are currently examining evidence.
No arrests have been made. Police believe there is no threat to the public.

Whitney added that investigators were at the townhome overnight Thursday through Friday and the odor was strong.
“I've never smelled death, but if I had to guess, it was the smell of death,” Whitney said.
East Lansing Interim Police Chief Chad Pride told WLNS that any delay between finding the body and the crime will make the investigation more difficult, but he believes detectives will get to the bottom of the case. Ta.
“My hope is that we quickly find a way to make our people feel safe, our families feel safe, and our neighbors safe,” Pride said.

A spokesperson for the company that manages the townhouses told WLNS that management is cooperating fully with the investigation, but cannot comment on the situation as it is currently under investigation.
Fox News Digital reached out to the East Lansing Police Department and Coolidge Place management for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.
