Apple reportedly developing an iPad-like AI wall tablet

Apple plans to launch a wall-mounted display that can control home appliances, handle video conferencing, and operate apps using artificial intelligence. Bloomberg News reported The announcement was made Tuesday, citing people familiar with the effort.

The product, codenamed J490, could be announced as early as March, the report said, adding that it would spotlight a new AI platform called Apple Intelligence.

According to the report, the price of a high-end device could reach $1,000 depending on the components used, while the price of a display-only device would be much lower.

The potential launch of the device comes as the tech giant looks to compete with rivals in the smart home market, including Google's Nest Hub and Amazon's Echo Show and Echo Hub smart displays.
