Riley Gaines won't leave Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (of New York) alone because she no longer uses proper pronouns.
The congresswoman became a hot topic on social media on Thursday after User X discovered that her bio no longer included the pronoun “she.”
Gaines, a former NCAA swimmer and OutKick contributor, joined in the mocking of Ocasio-Cortez on X in multiple posts.
“They'll pretend they didn't embrace (or even celebrate) the madness. Don't forget who the obedient, virtue-propagating sheep are.” Mr. Gaines wrote back. for a post claiming Ocasio-Cortez removed pronouns from her bio before May of this year.
Ms. Gaines later responded to a video in which Ms. Ocasio-Cortez apologized for not including pronouns in her bio and placed a photo next to them showing they were no longer there.
“We're winning and that's great.” Gaines wrote.
Later on Thursday, Gaines made another attempt to mock Ocasio-Cortez in a solo post.
“How do we know what to call AOC now that her pronouns are gone in her bio?!?!?!” Gaines wrote.
Gaines previously criticized Ocasio-Cortez for her stance on transgender athletes in women's sports.
The Democratic congressman has frequently advocated for transgender rights and transgender participation in women's sports during his time in office. Ocasio-Cortez recently criticized Green Party vice presidential candidate Butch Ware for saying he didn't think transgender athletes should play in women's sports, calling the ticket “predatory.”
“AOC claims that not wanting men to participate in women's sports is predatory.'' To AOC, acknowledging biological reality is “predatory.'' What actually is predatory? Do you know what it is? It sexualizes children and normalizes pedophilia,” Gaines wrote in a FOX News Digital article about Ocasio-Cortez’s comments on X.
Ocasio-Cortez has taken a partisan stance in support of transgender rights and protections.
After the Biden-Harris administration passed sweeping Title IX reforms in April aimed at strengthening gender identity protections in schools and colleges, Ocasio-Cortez said the reforms would help transgender people, They argued that it did not go far enough in favor of transgender people in particular. Athletes who want to try women's sports.
“There is absolutely no reason for the Biden administration to do this. It is inexcusable and shameful. Administrators can and should reverse this. This is shameful.” , Ocasio-Cortez wrote in response to reports that the change would allow schools to exclude transgender athletes from women's and girls' sports.
Government issues sweeping regulations clarifying Title IX prohibition on “sex” discrimination in schools covers discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation, and “pregnancy or related conditions.” did.
And although the administration has argued that the regulations do not address eligibility for athletic competition, multiple experts told Fox News Digital in June that ultimately biological male participation in women's sports will increase. We have provided evidence that it will increase.
Still, that wasn't enough for Ocasio-Cortez.

Ocasio-Cortez also co-sponsored the Equality Act, an amendment proposed in 2019 that would “force public schools to allow biologically male athletes who identify as transgender to participate on women's sports teams.” Suggested.
In March 2023, Democrats, including Ocasio-Cortez, advocated for a transgender bill of rights, proposing: solution “Recognizes the obligation of the federal government to develop and implement a transgender bill of rights.”
The resolution specifically calls for federal legislation to allow biological males to “participate in sports and programs on teams that best match their gender identity.” [and] Use the school facilities that best suit your gender identity. ”
Gaines, on the other hand, is a former college swimmer who had an infamous draw with trans athlete Leah Thomas at the 2022 NCAA Championships and has been a vocal opponent of transgender participation in women's sports.
Gaines shared harrowing memories of being forced to share a locker room with Thomas at a Trump campaign rally on Oct. 23.
“That we were centimeters away from a 6ft 4in man, watching us get naked, and he did the same and exposed a fully intact naked male body. “We were able to share the grotesque details of what it was like,” Gaines said.
“There are no words to describe the violation, betrayal and humiliation we felt.”
Gaines, along with other female athletes, led a lawsuit against the NCAA, accusing the governing body of violating Title IX rights because of its gender identity policies.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Atlanta, details the shock Gaines and other swimmers felt when they learned they would have to share a locker room with Thomas at the 2022 championships in Atlanta. are.
The book chronicles a number of races he swam with Thomas, including the 200-yard final where he and Gaines tied for fifth place, but the fifth-place trophy went to Thomas rather than Gaines.
Meanwhile, many other Democrats withdrew their support for transgender participation in women's sports before and after the election.
Representatives Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) and Tom Suozzi (N.Y.) spoke out against transgender inclusion in a New York Times article.
Moulton's comments sparked a wave of backlash from Democratic supporters who deemed his words “transphobic.”
Still, Moulton only doubled down on his comments amid the controversy.
