Comedian and former late-night host Conan O'Brien will host this year's Oscars for the first time in his career, ABC announced Friday.

O'Brien is best known for his career as a late-night show host, which spanned more than 20 years.

He currently hosts the podcast “Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend” and most recently appeared on Max's travel show “Conan O'Brien Must Go” in 2024, which was recently renewed for season two .
He also joked that he wanted to be part of “The White Lotus” season 3 and offered to play a male gigolo.
Despite being a legend in the entertainment industry, O'Brien has yet to host Hollywood's biggest night, although he hosted the Emmy Awards twice, in 2002 and 2006.
