An Orthodox Jewish rabbi has been linked to “terrorist involvement” and is feared dead, sparking a Mossad investigation.
Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a Chabad emissary, was a resident of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, when he went missing on Thursday. He is a citizen of both Moldova and Israel.
According to LinkedIn, Kogan works as a recruiter and is “passionate about volunteering and service.” [his] community. “
The Israeli Prime Minister's Office on Saturday announced an investigation into the unusual disappearance. The statement said the disappearances appeared to be related to a “terrorist incident” but did not elaborate.

“Since his disappearance, an active investigation has been carried out in the country following information indicating that this was a terrorist incident,” an official statement published in “Israel's security and intelligence services are concerned for Mr. Kogan's safety and well-being and are working vigorously on this case.
“This also serves as a reminder that, in line with the recommendations of the NSC, a Level 3 (Moderate Travel Alert) has been issued for the UAE for the foreseeable future and all non-essential travel is advised against. Yes, you are in the country, so please take special precautions.
UAE authorities are also investigating. In a statement released on Saturday night, Majid Al Mansouri, a member of the Medal of Honor, said: “The Ministry is closely monitoring the case of missing Moldovan national Zvi Kogan and is providing all necessary assistance. We are in close contact with his family to provide support.”

“His Excellency also emphasized that the Ministry is in continuous contact with the Moldovan Embassy in Abu Dhabi in this regard,” added the press release, which revealed that Mr. Kogan is a Moldovan national. “His Excellency underlined that the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has taken extensive measures to search for missing persons and confirmed that the relevant authorities in the UAE launched search operations and investigations immediately after receiving the report. ”
The Chabad movement on Saturday asked its social media followers to “please pray” for the missing rabbi.
“Rabbi Zvi Kogan, Chabad-Lubavitch's special envoy to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has been missing since Thursday,” Chabad.org wrote on X.
