Life is strange and unpleasant in many ways, so it's not really surprising that the Bible, which is our guide to life, is also full of strange and unpleasant topics.
However, there is one topic Jace Robertson He says it's at the top of the list, at least for men.
And that subject is circumcision.
But the practice is much more than just a physical act. The history of what the majority of American male babies receive after birth has a long history.
“Some of what I'm going to say may be graphic and off-putting to people who don't understand what circumcision is,” Jace says.
“When a baby is born, they are circumcised. When you go to the nether realm, there is skin that has been peeled off. … They do it now for cleanliness. It's not a question of identity,” he explained I will.
But many people forget where the concept of circumcision came from. It was a physical representation of God's covenant with Abraham and his descendants (Jewish people): if they obeyed his commands, God would give them a homeland, protection, and prosperity. .
But that's just the beginning. There is another layer to the concept of circumcision that many Christians do not understand. Circumcision is more than just a physical act. There is a spiritual circumcision of the heart that the Bible speaks of.
Jaseh refers to Romans 2:28-29.
“A person is not only outwardly Jewish, and circumcision is not merely an outward, physical thing.
No, people are internally the same Jews. And circumcision is the circumcision of the heart, not by a written code of law, but by the Holy Spirit. The praise of such a person comes not from others, but from God. ”
Yasseh also points to Colossians 2:9-12.
“For in Christ all the fullness of God lives in the flesh, and in him you have been made complete. He is the chief over all power and authority. in him you were circumcised without human hands. When you were circumcised by Christ and buried with Him in baptism, all dominion of your flesh was cast off, and through your faith in the work of God who raised Him from the dead, you too were raised with Him. be.”
“In this case, it's Christ who is doing the mutilation, so it's not the Jews who are coming back under this promise that God made to Abraham. This is a new kind of promise,” he says.
