Rockets’ Fred VanVleet Hit With $50,000 Fine By NBA After ‘Profane Outbursts’ At Referees

Fred had smoke for all the zebras!

It was announced Monday by the NBA that Houston Rockets point guard Fred VanVleet has been hit with a $50,000 fine for “confronting and directing profane language toward the officiating staff” Saturday during his team‘s 104-98 defeat against the Portland Trail Blazers. With only seconds left in the contest, VanVleet pointed at all the referees on the court and let it be known regarding his irritation towards them, which came after VanVleet was knocked with an offensive foul. He also came quite close to touching one ref in the head, and as a result he was immediately ejected.

“I think I’m in enough trouble as it is tonight,” said VanVleet to the media following the game. “Probably don’t need to discuss too much officiating. I know the refs are not trying to be wrong, but we disagreed quite a bit tonight.”

I find this situation to be more comical than anything, VanVleet nearly crashed out. (LMAO)
