A prominent Florida real estate developer facing murder charges turned himself in to authorities last week, two years after his involvement in a 2022 boating accident that killed a teenage girl off the coast of Miami.
George Pino, 54, was operating a 29-foot vessel with his wife and 12 minor children on September 4, 2022, when they collided with a channel marker near Boca Chita Key, killing 17-year-old Luciana.・Mr. Fernandez was killed and another person was seriously injured. Prosecutors and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officials say the boys are 17 and 16 years old.
Pino appeared in a Miami-Dade courtroom Thursday, surrounded by dozens of relatives and friends. The Miami Herald reported.. He has pleaded not guilty to felony charges for the September 2022 murder.
“We are disappointed in the state's surprising decision to file this felony charge after more than two years,” Pino's attorney Howard Srebnick told Fox News Digital in part.
