Thanksgiving, Black Friday May See Interruptions This Year As Anti-Israel Groups Plan ‘Global Escalation’

Several anti-Israel groups are planning to disrupt holiday travel and Black Friday shopping as part of a series of protests aimed at “global escalation.”

A coalition of groups is planning more than 50 events in major cities across the US, Europe and Australia from November 27 to 29 with the aim of disrupting “business as usual.” According to Visit the coalition's website titled “Global Escalation.” The list of actions includes organized strikes, protests and boycotts.

“From Wednesday 27th to Friday 29th November, Global Escalation will unite people and movements around the world to strike, refuse to shop and take direct action,” the website's call to action reads. and strengthen collective resistance.” . “This will be the first in a series of blows that will force change.”

Some of the events are aimed at preventing shoppers from purchasing from businesses the group declares are “complicit in genocide” in hopes of causing an “overall economic downturn over the holiday season.” It is stated on the website. Other events call on workers and students to go on strike or strike “in solidarity with the Palestinians” and protest against “Israeli's arms industry.”

The Global Escalation website states: “Global capital and Western power institutions have done everything in their power to serve Israel's war machine and have gotten away with a level of brutality never seen before.” are. “New precedents for colonial violence are being established, and new ways of retribution against those fighting the injustices that plague the world are also being established.”

New York City, Boise, Idaho, Denver, Colorado, Omaha, Nebraska and several California cities are some of the areas expected to be hit by protests, the website said. Events are also planned in the UK, Belgium, Spain, Japan, Canada and Italy.

Demonstrations on university campuses across the country ended with hundreds of arrests after countless violent and destructive scenes.
