The Alabama suspect accused of opening fire outside a Birmingham nightclub in September is also charged with killing several other people in multiple shootings this year.
Damian McDaniel, who is currently in police custody, has been charged with secret murder in connection with the July 13 shooting that killed four people and injured 10 others. The charges against the 22-year-old were announced by the Birmingham Police Department at a press conference on Wednesday.
McDaniel has already been implicated in the Sept. 21 shooting in Birmingham that killed four people and injured at least 17 others. At the time of the shooting, Birmingham Police Chief Scott Thurmond said the shooting was a “hit” and believed the suspects had been paid to shoot.
Both shootings occurred outside nightclubs, and the September 21 massacre occurred near the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
