Rams’ Demarcus Robinson will play vs. Saints after DUI arrest

DeMarcus Robinson will not miss Sunday's game against the Saints after being arrested on suspicion of drunk driving early Monday morning.

Rams manager Sean McVay told reporters Wednesday that the team will “let the legal process take place,” and Robinson said he “regrets” the situation. ESPN reported.

Robinson was stopped by a California Highway Patrol officer at around 5:13 a.m. local time when he was traveling over 160 mph, police said in a press release. “We monitored the signs and symptoms.”

The wide receiver met with McVay and the team's front office Monday afternoon and addressed his teammates at a team meeting.

McVay told reporters it was something he thought Robinson and the rest of the team would learn, and that his “bad decisions” didn't make him “a bad person.”

“I appreciated his ability to acknowledge that to his team without downplaying or diminishing the seriousness of what could have happened,” McVay said. “And I believe he'll learn from it and I think it'll be a good learning opportunity for our old football team. And that's how we move forward.”

Robinson said he has not heard from the NFL and does not know how long the legal process will take.

The incident occurred hours after the Eagles defeated the Rams 37-20 on “Sunday Night Football.”

Robinson scored a touchdown in the third quarter of Sunday's loss.

Robinson told reporters he takes “accountability” for what happened.

“I don't want to bring that kind of light or any kind of negative energy to the team,” Robinson said. “I told him, the team, and this entire organization that I am truly sorry for putting myself and the organization in that predicament.”

The receiver has 26 catches for 384 yards and six touchdowns this season.
