Horrifying dashcam video captures the moment a Texas mother is mowed down by a police officer in front of her crying children – as the officer's heartbroken partner screams: didn't you see them?
Newly released video shows 41-year-old Desire Poole being struck and killed by a Houston police cruiser while crossing the street with her son and daughter on September 19th around 10pm. Ta. ABC13 reported.
A dash camera captured Officer Shelby Kennedy driving down the street when Poole and her children suddenly came into view.
Footage shows the officer plowing into the mother of four at full speed as the children struggled to jump.
“Hey, hey, hey. Oh my god. Didn't you see them?” Kennedy's partner, police officer Joshua Rosales, exclaimed just seconds after Poole was shot.
“No,” Kennedy replied.
“Oh my god, Kennedy,” Rosales repeated.
Kennedy's body camera captured the victim's distraught children sobbing uncontrollably as officers administered CRP on her.
“My mom! You all killed my mom,” one of the children was heard screaming.
“Mommy, don’t die for me… Now pray, pray.”
Officials said Poole was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, the two officers were transporting the arrested suspect to a substation when the accident occurred.
Investigators do not believe speed was a factor, but they have not said how fast the officer was driving at the time.
Police are still investigating the crash.
