U.S. Army Post Offering Reward For Stolen M17 Pistols

The U.S. Army Garrison Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning) is offering a $15,000 reward for information regarding more than 30 missing M-17 pistols that are believed to have been stolen.

The M17 became the Army's official gun in 2017.

Ammoland reported Also missing are “enhanced night vision goggles (ENVG) and AN/PAS 13D thermo-optics.”

The gun and equipment were reported missing in May and may have been taken as early as March.

July 10, 2019, Guns.com noticed The U.S. Army has announced the adoption of the Sig Sauer P320 platform M17 pistol. Sig Sauer's M18 pistol, also a P320 platform handgun, was adopted as well, and both guns became popular among American combat forces.

On June 23, 2020, Breitbart News noted that the Air Force is replacing Beretta M9 pistols with 125,000 M18s. On September 23, 2020, Breitbart New observed that the U.S. Marine Corps also fielded the M18.
