Trevor Lawrence injury status

According to NFL MediaJaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been officially listed as questionable for Sunday's AFC South game against the Texans. Lawrence has been dealing with a shoulder injury over the past two weeks. There was some speculation that Lawrence would close up his home and take the rest of the year off, but that may no longer be the case. Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said: “At this point, yes, I think he's going to play. He was able to get through today, Friday and Saturday, but he had a good week.”

Lawrence will be a player to keep an eye on Sunday morning as the Jaguars take on the Texans in the first half of the game starting at 1 p.m. ET.

What Trevor Lawrence's injury means for fantasy football

The Jaguars' offense hasn't been fantasy football-friendly for the most part this season. That's especially true with Mac Jones, who has been under center at quarterback for the past two weeks.

Even if Lawrence returns to the lineup, it's hard to predict how effective he will be. If his shoulder isn't 100 percent but still good enough to play, he may not be as effective as he was before the injury.

Still, there's an opportunity for the Jaguars to have some fantasy relevance against a Texans defense that has struggled of late. The Texans defense is allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. Last week, Calvin Ridley had five receptions for 93 yards, and the week before that, CeeDee Lamb had eight receptions for 93 yards.

In Weeks 1-10 against Lawrence, rookie Brian Thomas Jr. was the WR12 in the PPR format. With Lawrence back in the lineup, Thomas could be able to return to similar performance against a defense that has struggled to defend its wide receivers recently.

With Lawrence in the lineup, Thomas could certainly be used as a potential flex play, and tight end Evan Engram also has some fantasy upside. However, Lawrence probably won't be worth starting at quarterback when he returns to the lineup. Lawrence was QB13 from Weeks 1 through 10, but there will still be serious questions about how his shoulder will hold up.
