Taylor Swift's boyfriend, NFL star tight end Travis Kelce, is positioned as a quarterback's best asset, not a quarterback's competition.
But that all changed over the weekend when Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen announced his engagement to pop star and actress Hailee Steinfeld, making them football's newest dynamic duo.
Kelce innocently congratulated the couple in the comments section of their joint Instagram post, leading users to speculate when she would take a knee for Swift.
Kelce: “Congratulations!!!'' This comment received over 11,000 likes and nearly 150 comments, many of which suggested that Kelce would be the “next'' person to propose. It was hinting.

“What you do is who you are,” one user wrote. “You're next,” several people commented. “Okay, you're next, right? The whole world is looking forward to it…” someone asked. “The couple in this photo is the tem version of you and your future wife @taylorswift,” another joked.

Some people were surprised by the madness in the comments section. They included one passionate defender who wrote, “He should be able to congratulate his friends without people freaking out,” before adding, “Very weird and invasive. It bothers him. Stop it, he just congratulated his friend.” ”
A representative for Kelsey did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
Swift, who is friends with Steinfeld, also liked the post.

Swift went public with her relationship with Kelsey in September 2023 after the “Bad Blood” singer attended a game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. “By the time we went to our first game, we were a couple,” she told Time magazine of their relationship timeline. “I'm sure some of you think you saw our first date at that game. We wouldn't be so psychotic as to start our first date so forcefully.”
Swift was on camera more than a dozen times during that game, and continued to be seen frequently at every event she attended since then.
Nearing the end of his Elas tour, Swift accompanied his father, Scott, and Kelsey's mother, Donna, to watch the Chiefs beat the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday.

Ever since the two started dating, there have been rumors that their relationship was fabricated for publicity purposes. However, Kansas City Chiefs president Mark Donovan refuted that theory in late November.

“I'd like to say it was a marketing ploy, but it was a genuine relationship and we're happy to have it and it's been nothing but good for us,” he said. CNBC's “Squawk Box.” “The best thing I can say about the whole relationship and the impact it has had on us is that Taylor Swift is a true member of the Kansas City Chiefs kingdom. She's a true fan. And that's it. It's important to our fans and our fan base.'' And that's important to us and we've tried to honor that. ”
