Syracuse football writers claim it wasn't just football games that had Miami's mascot worried on the sidelines.
Sports anchor and CNY Central reporter Ashley Wenskoski accused Hurricanes mascot Sebastian of hitting her during the Orange's 42-38 come-from-behind victory at the Carrier Dome on Saturday.
This mascot was also unlucky and was publicly outed in the process.
“Sebastian the Toki kneeled down while driving his car and asked for my number. He was on the ropes in the fourth quarter at the Dome, and I feel like he has more things to worry about with his team…but when I… What can I say,” Wenzcockski wrote to X.
Fans jumped to her defense, landing several shots on Miami in the process.
“Really or were you playing?!” Looks like Miami couldn’t maintain discipline across the board!” wrote X user @TKonBirdApp.
Added: “He was also having a big time with Michael Irvin…very talkative today.”
“There was another L in Miami that day,” chimed in @MikeAsti11.
Sebastian's L with fellow Syracuse alumnus Wenskoski wasn't as big as it was at Miami, but this loss could favor Clemson and keep it out of the ACC Championship game, putting it in jeopardy of missing out on the College Football Playoff. There was.
Syracuse got 380 passing yards and three touchdowns from quarterback Kyle McCord, improving from 2-6 last season to 9-3.
The victory moved him into the top 25 in both polls and peaked at No. 23 in the Associated Press poll.
