A Florida woman who locked her boyfriend in a suitcase and suffocated him to death has been sentenced to life in prison.
Sarah Boone, 46, was sentenced to life in prison by Judge Michael Kraynick on Monday. According to FOX 35 Orlando, he also rejected a request for a new trial from Boone's attorneys.

Prosecutors said Boone beat Torres with a baseball bat and left her in a suitcase overnight. He died from suffocation.
The incident made national headlines after disturbing cell phone footage of Mr. Boone of Mr. Torres went viral.
The disturbing footage shows a closed suitcase with Torres inside. While Torres was having trouble breathing, he told Boone, “Sarah, I can't breathe, baby.”
“It's your responsibility,” she said in the footage.
“Sarah, I can't breathe,” Torres repeated desperately.

At another point in the video, Boone says, “That's what you get,” and “That's what I feel when you cheat on me,” while Torres struggles to free himself. said.
Boone was pronounced dead the next day. In a chilling phone call made public in October, she told a 911 operator that Torres had died.
”[We were] “Last night when we were playing, I put him in a suitcase and we were playing. It was like hide and seek,” Boone said.
Boone also claimed that he had lost consciousness the night before and tried to perform CPR on Torres when he found him dead.
“I don't know what happened,” she explained. “There was blood coming out of his mouth. It was purple.”

In court proceedings, Boone claimed he never intended to kill Torres and that his actions were in self-defense. She also claimed that Mr. Torres abused her.
Torres' family was also present at Boone's sentencing on Monday. Torres' daughter took the stand and said her father was a “hidden gem” who was taken away “by evil.”
