A season of nail-biters continues

It was a history-making week in which little changed in the NFL hierarchy.

An NFL record-tying 12 games were decided by seven points or less over Thanksgiving weekend. Until Week 13, they had a league-record 106 games decided by seven points or less, and it's fair to call it a tough season.

I mean, there must be a lot of moving parts to digest, right?

Let's think again.

The Post's power rankings from last week appear to be spot on, with the top 13 teams going 12-1, with the Ravens' only loss coming against the top-ranked Eagles.

Here are The Post's power rankings for Week 14:

1. Lions 11-1 (1)

Achieve 10 consecutive wins. Jared Goff threw two touchdown passes to Sam LaPorta and Jake Bates kicked three field goals in a 23-20 victory over the Bears. The Bears' terrible time management, which thwarted a game-tying field goal attempt and later fired head coach Matt Eberflus, made victory even more likely.

2. Proposal 10-2(2)

Josh Allen threw a touchdown pass on a play that resulted in a receiving touchdown, sandwiched between Amari Cooper's catch and lateral. Playing on a snow-covered field, the Bills gave it their all and won 35-10, leaving the losing 49ers looking like they wanted to be somewhere else. The Bills won their fifth consecutive AFC East title.

3. Chiefs 11-1 (3)

Matthew Wright, who was called up to the practice squad, made four field goals for the Chiefs, who clinched a playoff berth with a 19-17 victory over the Raiders. The kicking game was a deciding factor as Daniel Karlsson missed three field goals and was denied a chance to win when Nick Bolton recovered Aidan O'Connell's fumble with 15 seconds left. Ta.

4. Eagles 10-2(4)

Saquon Barkley, who was strong in the first half, scored a 25-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter for a 24-19 victory over the Ravens. He gained 107 rushing yards and could possibly be the leader in the NFL MVP race. The defensive-minded Eagles became the second NFC team to beat quarterback Lamar Jackson (who will join the Giants in 2022) in 25 career starts.

5. Packers 9-3 (5)

Jordan Love and Jaden Reed scored two touchdowns and the Packers defeated the Dolphins 30-17 for their seventh win in their last eight games. After building a 27-3 lead, the Packers' defense held out at the goal line in the fourth quarter and nearly cut the lead to one point, culminating in a fourth-down sack of Quay Walker.

6. Vikings 10-2(6)

Aaron Jones fumbled on each of the Vikings' first two possessions and went to the bench, but returned with 73 seconds left to make the game-winning touchdown catch in a 23-22 victory over the Cardinals. The Vikings scored on their final three possessions, gaining 187 total yards in 23 plays and erasing a 13-point deficit with two touchdown passes to Sam Darnold.

7. Steelers 9-3(7)

It's been a long time since Russell Wilson performed this well, throwing for 414 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-38 shootout victory over the Bengals. Most of the damage occurred after he threw a pick-six in the first quarter. The Steelers led 27-21 at halftime in the most scoring first half of the 110 meetings between the rivals.

8. Ravens 8-5(8)

All-Pro kicker Justin Tucker's nightmare season continues, as he missed two field goals and a PAT in the loss to the Eagles. Mark Andrews scored his 47th career touchdown, tying a franchise record, but Jackson and Derrick Henry combined for just 27 points compared to 36 passes for the Ravens, far from their original effectiveness. It was too far off.

9. Charger 8-4 (9)

Defense can be a beautiful thing. Rookie cornerback Taheeb Still had two of the Chargers' four interceptions against Kirk Cousins, one of which was returned 61 yards for a touchdown, but the team lost 17-13. It became. The offense only made three field goals in the first half while overcoming five sacks, one lost fumble and two first downs. Special teams failed with a fake punt.

10. Broncos 8-5 (10)

Michael Burton and Javonte Williams both had one rushing yard and one rushing touchdown in a 41-32 win against the Browns. The Broncos increased their lead to 28-17 and found themselves behind with three minutes left, but Will Lutz's 27-yard go-ahead field goal and Jaquan McMillan's 44-yard pick-six sealed the comeback, with two interceptions. After losing to Sam Darnold's Vikings earlier this season, the Jets bowed to another former quarterback when Geno Smith led the Seahawks to a 26-21 come-from-behind victory. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes in the first quarter, but missed too many game-breaking opportunities and threw a costly pick-six. Kene Nwangwu added a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown.

Trailing by as many as 17 points, the Giants were slumped on a 1/3 down stop before getting the ball back with a chance to tie the game. In fact, it's been a seven-game losing streak.

32. Jaguars 2-10 (32)
