Alaska Airlines reportedly experienced an information technology (IT) issue Monday that caused reservation disruptions and flight delays at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac), but the airline's operations are back to normal. It is said that there is.
“This morning, we experienced an IT issue that caused significant disruption to our operations, including flight delays,” the airline said in a statement to local KIRO news radio.
The Seattle-based airline requested a brief ground stop at Seattle Tuck Airport at 11:20 a.m. to “relieve aircraft congestion on the ground,” the Seattle-based airline said. Media reported that the restrictions had been lifted by noon.
KIRO reported that the airline was offering a Cyber Monday sale at the time, and people trying to book flights online were briefly disrupted by an IT issue. The sale runs through Wednesday, according to Alaska Airlines' website.
