Hannah Kobayashi’s family begs police to keep searching for her after cops say she’s ‘voluntarily missing’

The family of missing Hawaiian photographer Hannah Kobayashi insists the search for her is “not over yet” after Los Angeles police declared her a “voluntary disappearance.”

“We are deeply grateful for the urgency and dedication shown by the police in investigating Hannah's disappearance,” the family said in a statement posted on social media.

“Our family hopes Hannah is safe and calls on everyone to continue the search,” the statement added. “The search is not over yet. We will do everything in our power to bring her home safely.”

Investigators believe she threw away her phone after arriving at Los Angeles International Airport and taking a connecting flight.
