comedian bill maher said on the podcast He said he wanted to quit the show because of President-elect Trump's prospects for a second term.
“I got my pants dirty,” Maher said. “I mean, next time I might quit because I don't want to do it — I did Trump. I did everything about Trump before anyone else.”
“I was the first to call him a fraud. I said, 'He's a mafia boss.' I was the one who said I wasn't going to concede in the election,'' Maher said. “i did it.”
Maher's guest, Jane Fonda, asked Maher why Trump is “so hostile” to comedian Jimmy Kimmel but “not so hostile” to you.
Maher retorted: “He's very hostile towards me. He tweets about me every week.”
“He 'happens' to watch my show every week,” Maher continued, quoting Airmail as the former and future president calling him a “low ratings loser.” I spoke using it.
“But I mean, I'm just tired of it,” Maher added.
Fonda, a longtime progressive activist and Hollywood actor, suggested that Marr “find something new and not imitate President Trump,” but Marr suggested that was not possible.
“The show is politics. Nothing else,” Maher replied. “And he will dominate the news as always.”
Earlier this year, Maher signed a deal with HBO to renew his show “Real Time” for two more seasons through 2026.
Mr. Maher headlined his first feature on the network in 1989 and regularly makes headlines for his commentary on politics, policy and current events.
