Jimmy Kimmel Laughs At “Righteous” Republicans Criticizing Biden For Pardoning Hunter: “These Guys Have Got To Be Kidding”

Jimmy Kimmel continued his blistering attack on “righteous” Republicans who have criticized President Joe Biden after he insisted he would not pardon his son Hunter Biden.

Kimmel began his opening monologue on Tuesday (Dec. 3) with a jab at Donald Trump, who is scheduled to attend the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral this week. “If everything goes according to plan, he wants to buy it and turn it into a casino,” he joked.

But the late-night host turned to the nation's Republicans who are “exploding with fake anger” after President Biden pardoned Hunter.

“One of those who expressed righteous indignation was Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, who warned us about the long-term dangers associated with a situation like this,” Kimmel said in a clip of Cornyn criticizing President Biden's decision. He said this while lining up.

Cornyn said in the video that President Biden's pardon set a “terrible precedent.”

“Without accountability for those who break the law and get permission, there is no deterrent or accountability to teach young people and others that yes, the law is to be obeyed, and that there are consequences for not doing so. “'t,'' he explained.

Kimmel laughed at Cornyn's remarks. Although he didn't specifically make that point on air, he said earlier this week that “everyone who voted to release a 34-time convicted felon is extremely happy that Joe Biden released his son.” I'm angry,” he said.

Earlier this year, Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records to cover up hush money he paid to Stormy Daniels during the campaign. However, since he won the presidential election, the verdict was postponed indefinitely.

“People say politicians don't have a sense of humor,” Kimmel said with a laugh of the Republican criticism during Tuesday's broadcast. “These guys must be seriously joking. I don’t think it’s acceptable. And they do it over and over again with a straight face!

Kimmel also pointed out that Trump recently appointed someone he once pardoned, Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law, to his Cabinet.

“Trump not only pardoned the father of his son-in-law Jared, who went to prison for hiring prostitutes to entrap his brother-in-law; [but] This weekend, he appointed that person to be the U.S. ambassador to France,” Kimmel explained.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! It airs weekday nights at 11:35/10:35 on ABC.
