Senate confirmation of United Nations ambassador candidate Elise Stefanik appears almost certain.
Stefanik has quietly resumed “courtesy visits” in recent days with key senators who will vote on her nomination to head the U.S. mission to the United Nations.
Positive meetings between Cabinet nominees and senators are essential to the Senate confirmation process.
Stefanik also met with 25 Republican senators this week. In total, she met with 36 of the 53 total incoming senators.
She stars Katie Britt, Markwayne Mullin, Jim Banks, Tim Scott, Shelly Capito, Steve Daines, Marcia Blackburn, Mitch McConnell, John Barrasso, Susan Collins, Tommy Tuberville, I've met Chuck Grassley, Ted Cruz, Mike Rounds, John Hoeven, and Rick. Stefanik's nomination appears to have bipartisan support. Democratic Sen. John Fetterman endorsed Stefanik and said he “looks forward to voting yes” on her nomination to “continue our strong and unapologetic pro-Israel position.”
Stefanik pledged to defend President-elect Donald Trump's peace through strong foreign policy at the United Nations, an institution in much need of reform and oversight.
“President Trump's national security power of America First Peace will bring much-needed strength and leadership back to the world stage,” Stefanik said in a statement to Breitbart News. “I look forward to meeting with more than half of the Republican senators in just two weeks and continuing to work to gain support through the confirmation process to realize President Trump's national security priorities at the United Nations. ”
Stefanik cited examples of bad behavior by the United Nations, including UN Women. official arm (The United Nations is committed to promoting gender equality and women's empowerment.) Stefanik attracted attention in 2021 when she became Speaker of the House of Representatives, replacing Liz Cheney. She then played a pivotal role in the Republican effort to regain control of the House during the 2022 midterm elections. Earlier this year, the New York congressman was the leading Republican focused on eradicating anti-Semitism on college campuses.
